(Michael
Rabin

Today in the
history of music
On May 2, 1936, Michael Rabin (1936-1972) was born in New York City, the
United States, to a family of musicians. His father was an outstanding
violinist and an outstanding musician in the New York symphony
orchestra.Rabin was born in such a family, from childhood osmosis,
received excellent edification and education. He was very clever, very
agile, very young. He showed great musical talent. When rabin was a child,
he began to learn the violin from his father. At that time, his talent
made his progress surprisingly fast, and for a long time he was known as
a child prodigy. At the age of nine, rabin entered the famous julliard
conservatory of music with exceptional results and began his career as a
student of Ivan galamian, the world-renowned violin educator.Under the
teacher's indefatigable teaching and careful guidance, rabin's talent
was further demonstrated, he made rapid progress, and soon became the
proud disciple of galmian.
Rabin rose to fame early in the society. In 1947, when he was not yet 11
years old, he gave his first professional public performance and won
over the audience with his highly skilled skills and mature musical
expression. Therefore, he was widely praised by people from all walks of
life at that time.Meanwhile, the music critics were enthusiastic and
excited.Gave him a very high and at the same time very objective
evaluation. He was praised as a violinist with extraordinary skill and
delicate artistic expression.
It is well known that Carnegie Hall, located in New York, is a place of
sacred symbolic significance for musicians. For many years, it only
accepted talented musicians from all over the world to give concerts
here, and once a performer had played there, he would have an
extraordinary influence and even obtain supreme status.Almost all of the
world's greatest violinists, including heffetz, menuhin, David oyster
and stern, have made their mark here.Because of this, Carnegie Hall has
become a hot destination for young musicians around the world. For most
young performers, however, this longing remains an ideal, for one
reason: Carnegie Hall accepts only real musical talent. But such a
difficult thing for rabin, it seems so easy.In 1950, when he was only 14
years old, rabin gave two solo concerts here with the national symphony
orchestra. His brilliant success shocked the world of music and made him
famous.
Rabin's rise to fame in Carnegie Hall was by no means accidental. He is
indeed how many years to appear a rare talent, in fact, before this,
rabin has earned a lot of honor with his outstanding talent.Just a year
before his global fame at Carnegie Hall, also in the United States
national music club league held music won the first prize in the
competition, the experience and honor, is if he succeed in Carnegie
Hall, more specifically, is more than these achievements in Carnegie
Hall is famous for his world laid a good and necessary basis.
After rabin became famous, he went on a series of successful Tours
around the world for a period of time, and his skills and fame began to
spread abroad. However, his untimely death greatly reduced his influence
in the world.Rabin, with his unique skills and vigorous spirit, had not
waited for people to fully understand and understand him, but he
suffered misfortune and died. This adverse factor greatly limited the
development of his reputation, and made him a short-lived figure in the
world of violin performance.
Similarly, the critic argued that despite rabin's professed lifelong
admiration for heffetz, his playing was more like that of David
oysterlach, with warmth, magnanimity and humanity in it.Of course, from
rabin's skilled and gorgeous playing skills and hot passion, we can also
feel his influence on heffetz, and the combination of David oyster's
gentleness, sweetness and depth with heffetz's exquisite, gorgeous and
brilliant is the basic mode of rabin's playing style.
Even so, rabin that extraordinary perfect performance, still make people
feel a generation of great master excellent style. Is the so-called gold
no fault, no one is perfect, rabin in the bright future is destroyed in
his own hands.Who would have thought that this prodigy, the promising
young violinist, would have fallen into a drug habit that, although he
had struggled to quit, had a fatal effect on his career.
On January 19, 1972, rabin relapsed at home, fainted, and died at the
age of 36 after accidentally hitting his head on a hard tool as he fell
to the ground. His death was deeply regretted by the many music lovers
who cared for him and deeply grieved his teacher, galameen. However,
after all, rabin destroyed himself, a generation of genius like a meteor
like fleeting. This unfortunate outcome not only made the world violin
art world pay a heavy price, but also made people get a painful lesson
from it.

(Michael Rabin

Sarasati's
"song of the wanderer", also known as "the song of the gypsies",
the immortal masterpiece of the violin solo.Sarasati's work is
always about effect and technique, and it is all pure violin
work. This piece of music is one of the most well-known works of
sarasati, and the gorgeous effect of its evocative sadness and
abstruse violin skills will make anyone's heart go wild.
The gypsy people are widely distributed in the world, but they
are all nomadic people who have never settled down. They live a
life of poverty and discrimination for generations, but they are
lively, optimistic and can sing and dance. The author salasati
describes several aspects of the national character in a very
appropriate way and perfectly combines the melody and skill of
the violin. The orchestral accompaniment in this song is also
arranged by the author himself.
The whole song is divided into four parts:
The first part
Middle plate, C minor, 4/4.It starts with a strong orchestra,
and then the main violin plays a sad melody. This part is very
short, just the introduction of the whole song.
The second part
The slow plate, played by the violin to produce a new melody, is
a beautiful melancholy, with variations and the development of a
strong technique to do repeatedly, light overtones and gorgeous
left hand plucked strings show the rich connotation of this
theme. In this part, the orchestra is not so obvious, and the
theme is always the soft melody of the violin.
The third part
Slightly slower slow plate, 2/4 beat. The violin is equipped with
a pianissimo, "very expressively" to play a full of sentimental
mood melody, the mood of sadness to the extreme. This melody is
well known.
The fourth part
The 2/4 meter, the allegro that changes quickly to extremely
fast, has the heroic character that forms apparent contrast with
the 2nd, 3 parts, reflect the other side of gypsy national
character -- can sing and dance.Led by the strong orchestral
playing, the violin plays a very happy melody, the rapid
pizzicato of the right hand and the smooth playing of the high
notes are extremely happy. After this melody is finished, a new
melody is started with the pizzicato of the violin, followed by
a gossamer melody composed of staccato of sixteenth notes, full
of dancing atmosphere; Then, with a more technical pizzicato, the
first part of the fourth part is reproduced, gradually reaching
a climax with vigor and vitality, and finally ending the music
like lightning. |
