In the summer of 1978,Zeng Hou Yi Tomb, a
large-scale tomb built during the early
period of the Warring States （2，400years
ago),was excavated in Suizhou City of Hubei province.From
it,more than 15,OOO pieces of relics were
unearthed,including 8 kinds and 125 pieces
of musical instruments（the bronze chime
bells are the most precious among them),36
kinds and 134 pieces of bronze wares,8 kinds
and 4,777 pieces of weapons ,9 kinds and
1,127 pieces of chariots and hamess
articles,26 Kinds and 5,012 pieces of
lacquer wares,13 kinds and 940 pieces of
gold foil,26 kinds and 602 pieces of jade
and stone objects,and 240 pieces of bamboo
slips. The great quantity and the
magnificent shapes of the relics are
acclaimed as the acme of perfection.The
discovery of the tomb offers a large number
of precious materials for the research of
history,science and technology,culture and
art in Chinese ancient times.it is of great
value in research and appreciation.
